Ok, I realize that you drinkers are pathetic, and you absolutely need the crutch of drinking in order to feel good about yourselves. And I do not get in your faces at parties, etc, about you needing to drink yourselves into a stupor in order to have fun. However, I can have fun without drinking, and since I do not harass you, why do you need to harass people like me who are not drinking? And you know what I men. the "come on! just have one drink!" and "can't you handle it?" remarks. When there is a bowl of punch with liquor in it for you, yet you need to spike the bowl that is supposed to be non-liquor for those that do not want or need it. What is so wrong with your lives that you cannot accept the fact that some of us can have fun without drinking, and that we just cope with our problems (most of which are probably no better or worse than your problems) without the need for a crutch?

And before anyone says it, I do not smoke, I do not do drugs, and I rarely drink coffee.

Please! No more ignorant answers! I do not go to "frat" parties, they are far beneath me. I am talking about just about any social event where liquor is served, and drinkers need to harass the non-drinkers. Like at the birthday dinner I just attended with people i work with, and of course, the drinkers just had to harass us (three) non-drinkers all night long. One even went as far as to pour liquor into a girl's soda when she got up to use the ladies' room, then called the other girl a "stick in the mud" for warning her. And when one of them took the liberty of ordering drinks for all three of us.

Do not try to say drinkers are not pathetic! When the place I work at was taking suggestions for the Xmas party, I suggested Midieval Times. a big NO WAY! because one of them heard that they can only be drinking before and after the show, but during the show, BOO HOO NO ALCOHOL! So, how could they POSSIBLY have a good time, not drinking for three hours out of their lives! Is IS pathetic that drinkers will not attend any social event where they cannot be drinking.

Oh, that's a laugh. Care to explain, how, exactly, me NOT drinking makes me look like trash?

houseofknightsandladie just proved my point. Why can't you just accept someone not drinking and get over it? Just because you NEED it, why should I have to drink what i do not want or like just to please pathetic you?

You are tight. The insults prove your point. Drinkers cannot comprehend that some people do not need to drink to have a good time because it is too much for them to process. All they know is to drink, then to insult and harass anyone who does not.

Wow! You're the life of the party, aren't you? You could just say yes to a weak margarita or a few beers and get over it. Nobody said you had to end up sloshed and covered with vomit while face down in the punch you spiked with rum.

By the way, frat parties are just about desperate and horny guys barely out their teens trying to come on to any girl they can get. Not much of a compliment, anyway. Stop going upstairs with them. They offer the drink because they think you're not so easy and then they can get you that way.

Well aren't you just little Miss Perfect? I have absolutely no sympathy for you. Are you looking for people to say, "Oh you poor dear! How do you ever deal with drinkers?" Not happening here, sweetheart. I am a drinker, by choice. I don't get in other people's faces because they're not sharing in my drinking. Not everyone likes to drink alcohol, like you said. Don't generalize. Don't say things like all drinkers are pathetic, when you KNOW that you're stereotyping. You know for a fact that not all drinkers are pathetic and need alcohol to feel better about themselves. Those people are called alcoholics. If you're going to go on a tirade, make sure you're addressing the right people, otherwise you're going to make a whole bunch of people mad. I will apologize to the "drinkers" for you. There is nothing so terribly wrong with us drinkers that we absolutely have to have alcohol in order to function. We're just looking to enhance our good time. So, here's my advice for you...if you're going to act like this, don't come to any bars where I'll be. I'd hate to harass you.

Frat parties are beneath you? Do you know that you sound like a stuck up snob? Stick to your operas and play houses, and stay away from places where alcohol is served if you're so concerned.

Oh honey...I told you...you're going to make a lot of people mad with this one. Namely, myself. I have to say that I totally disagree with you. Drinkers are not pathetic. Just because you can't look down your nose long enough to see that your coworkers are trying to have a good time, does not make them pathetic. So what if they want to have a few drinks while they're out. Cut them some slack. No one said you had to hang out with these people, even if it is a work function. If you have such a HUGE problem with people drinking, join a convent and be done with it. Don't join a Catholic one though, those nuns might harrass you into drinking some wine.

I have to have the last word on this, because I feel that I'm completely right. Would you like catch a beer at the local tavern after work, to discuss this matter further? Or, is that a little below you? Stuck up yankee...

Simple answer, there drunk. When your drunk, you can't think straight and you are often rude (hece they push the drinks on you) They also like it (kinda pathetic) and want you to do it too!But hey, they'll wake up with a pounding headache, and you wont!

It sounds like they're just trying to get you to have, you know, some fun...they're just being stupid (but friendly) about it. Because they're drunk. If you don't like being around drunk people you should probably quit going to parties and take up knitting. I hear it's a very soothing hobby.

Maybe you need a drink.
My suggestion would be to not party with drunks. You must subconsciously like it,or you would party with sober people.

You are incorrect. I have a drink every now and then. I have never gotten into any ones face because of it. Do not generalize.

Peer Pressure. It is hard sometimes. Maybe they secretly admire your commitment to a healthier lifestyle and want to be the "winner" who corrupts it.
