Of course it's ok! Haven't you seen the movie A Bug's Life, the ladybug is a male. I know it's more often associated with female, but there are male ladybugs, and butterflies.

It's fine I guess, but I think there are some better baby boy costumes out there. How about a pumpkin? All babies are cute as pumpkins. Also I agree with the above answer. You're going to be hearing all night "Well aren't you a cute little girl!" or "Aww..look at that adorable little girl in the ladybug costume!"

Of course its fine. I have two children a boy and a girl, I dressed my son one year in a pooh costume and a few people would say what a cute girl. Pooh is a boy, but I didnt let it bother me. I would just correct them. Its no big deal. I am sure he will not come years later and be mad a bout a costume at 6 months. Six month olds are cute in what ever they wear. And a lady bug costume would be soooo adorable. You dress your baby in what ever is most comfortable for you. I say taqe advantage of this time, cuz by the time he reaches teenage years you won't be choosing any of his clothes for him.

I wouldn't because I associate ladybugs as a girl thing. But it's your baby.
I always liked the lion, monkey or puppy costumes for boys.

Something about that doesn't sit well with me - and I don't really know why....
With a six-month old boy I think I'd go with something else even if it were something simple like a big hat and a touch of make-up to give him a little bit of clown face.

I think so, whatever it's a baby it will be cute. I've seen baby boys in baptism dresses. I think the pooh bear honey pot costume is the best for babies.

He's too young to question his sexuality because of it. ;) lol... You'll probably get a bunch of people who don't know him referring to him as a "she" and such, but as long as you don't mind there's nothing wrong with it... It would be kind of strange if there were a skirt involved, but whatever!!! You can take pictures and make fun of him when he's older.
