The USA is the only nation to have landed humans on the moon. There were six manned landings: Apollo 11, Apollo 12, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16, Apollo 17. Apollo 13 did not land due to some very serious technical problems.

The USSR had a series of successful moon probes. It was teh Luna series. Some of them landed on the moon. Some of them even returned samples to Earth from the Moon.

The USA also had a series of successful moon probes. They were called Ranger and Surveyor.

The USA has had 6 manned missions to the moon between 1969 and 1972.

(List of missions and men on the moon)
Apollo 11 - Neil Armstrong, Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin
Apollo 12 - Pete Conrad, Alan Bean
Apollo 14 - Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell
Apollo 15 - David Scott, James Irwin
Apollo 16 - John W. Young, Charles Duke Jr.
Apollo 17 - Eugene Cernan, Harrison 'Jack' Schmitt
(These missions also had a command module pilot who did not actually walk on the moon.)

No other country has sent people to the moon, though a number of other countries have sent unmanned probes to the moon and China's space program is attempting to land a person on the moon.

Only the U.S.A. has landed a human on the moon (in fact, twelve of them).

But the U.S. has also landed unmanned probes -- some soft landings, others crash landings. Also, the Soviets/Russians, and just recently the European Space Agency landed a probe.

May be some day some one will land on the Moon. But what is the purpose of it? you can sell real estate up there. One side is frozen stiff the other side is just like an oven.
Landing on Mars would be more interesting if anyone would ever get there.
