This question sounds more on the ball than your other two.

Spin, in reguards to elementary particles, referring to the presence of angular momentum rather than rotation like in a planet, could be said to apply to all matter in the universe. The universe became what it is today because of the big bang, but if you are looking for a cause of the big bang, or a way to explain the reactions I don't think spin will help you there.
