More points than the Colts, 50+ less points allowed defensively than the Colts, outscored the Broncos by a 2-1 margin so far this season. Undefeated at home, unlike Baltimore and New England.

Hey folks, guess who is #1 in the AFC?

The fact that they are doing all this with a first year starter at QB is incredible. Rivers doesn't get enough credit, that guys going to be one of the great ones. And you're right, they are the best team in the AFC. When their defense gets healthy again, not even the Bears can beat them.

For Thomas C: Oh, the Chargers can't beat the Colts? Hmmm.... well what happened last year then? Oh, yeah, I remember, the Chargers ended the Colts perfect season right in front of the Indianapolis home crowd.

You can never know "the bast team" in any division, conference, or league untill there is a champion. There are too many variable to consider. We will see. But we can state our opinions!

It doesn't matter how many points you put up, or how little you allow, just that you score more than the other team on that given week. Which the Colts have done all year.

I would consider that it is more difficult to be undefeated on the road than it is at home, which the Pats and the Colts have done.

I don't think the Chargers are even the best in their division!

You make some good points there, and seem to have forgotten you have TWO losses. How teams win games can vary, but the end results must justify the means. They could have stats up the wazoo come January and if they are 10-6 they will be watching the Colts and Broncos and Pats in the playoffs. Concentrate on what truly matters - wins!

this is a 10-pointer and u know it

I think the NFL still uses the best record to determine who's the best team, not some meaningless stats about scoring on the broncos. By the way, the chargers defense is about to get a lot worse without shawne merriman. Maybe the Colts LBs would be better if they were pumping themselves full of steroids too.
