Or does the parents of the victim have to do it? I know a female who is 25 that is dating a 19 year old. They have been together for 3 years, which would have made him 16 and her 22 at the time!! I just met her which is why I had not reported it in the past. Can I make a report and if I can, how do I go about doing it? And, are their statute of limitations??

And, for those of you that don't know the law....statuatory rape is just a title. It is not necessarily RAPE. The two participants have consensual sex!!! Why would he report something HE wanted??

Yes there are statute of limitations, and unfortunately because of him being 19 now there would be nothing that they could do someone would have to of reported it when he was underage.. However hun if they have been together 3 yrs and they appear to be happy then you should just let it be, because at 16 he knew what he was doing.. That isn't that many yrs difference, and actually if you think about it I use to think that if a 40 yr old was with a woman in her 20's that they should do something about it, but they don't look at it that way anymore.. So no hun there isn't anything you can do.. but for future reference if you see someone like 16 and late 20's or older then report it cause yes anyone can.

I don't think there is a statute of limitations on rape, but you did say that he was now 19 and she is 25. So there for I would say that only him or his parents can do anything about it at all. I am sure that his parents knew that something was going on between them if they have been together for that long. Why would any body want to do anything to them now after being together for 3 years? In most states, he is of legal age now. Why is it bothering you so much that they are together, unless she is mentally abusing him in some way or the other. How is he a victim if he has been with her for 3 years now and 19 years old?

Statuatory rape is genuinely a regulation set as much as maintain teenagers risk-free from coersion. that is something we shop our eyes out for in our kinfolk making plans health center. yet particularly, the crimson flags bypass up whilst that could be a thirteen- or 14- or maybe 15-12 months-old lady (or boy) with someone 18 or older. whilst the age is comparable, like hence, we don't get too razzed. because of the fact there replaced into no intercourse in contact, because of the fact their a protracted time are so close, and because evidently like a lot time has handed my wager is that if she did document him, she'd be greater of a nuisance to the courtroom equipment than something. i'm guessing that no you could take her heavily except she claimed she replaced into raped.

I don't believe that you can report it now. But either way...they have been in a relationship for three years now and it should have been reported sooner, why bother with it now if they are a happy couple? I mean, if they were still young and getting to know each other sure, but really , a three year relationship, do you want to get yourself involved with that? You are just asking for drama!

First and foremost, what business is it of yours! Has the male participant complained about it? Is he traumatized? Do you have a special interest in him? Has he asked you for assistance?

There is not much you can do legally anyway. This is something that has occurred way out of your jurisdiction. Leave it alone before you get yourself or someone else into trouble. Oh yeah, GET A LIFE!!!

Since he is past the age of consent now it would do you no good to report it. In order for it to be statutory rape would have been to have known about it at the time of it happening. You have nothing to report.

Yes you can just as you would any other crime. The complainant in the case does not necessarily have to be the plaintiff (victim) the complainant is merely an informant
