The cost is all over the map. Some people manage to get a no-contest divorce for as little as a few hundred dollars through on-line services, which give you the format and instructions. However, both parties must agree on the terms. If that isn't going to happen, then she'll need a lawyer. Most good divorce lawyers work on a retainer, which means that there is a minimum cost for their service. However, depending on complications, if the lawyers time becomes excessive, because they calculate time by how many minutes they spend on your case, the cost may exceed the retainer. The best lawyers are going to charge in excess of $300 per hour on a retainer probably between 5 & 10 thousand dollars. You could find a less expensive lawyer, but experience and networked associations can prove valuable. The best lawyers have been connected to the process, so they often act as mediators, know the judges and the other prominent divorce lawyers. The party with the best lawyer has a better chance of a favorable outcome. Try getting some referrals through another good lawyer friend who may not specialize in this area.

Sorry, I dont know the costs there, but I do know a way to find out. An experience attorney should be able to give you an estimate on what it would cost, from begining to end. This is only an estimate however. If you give them some basic information, even to the receptionist or secretary over the phone, and tell them if there are children or property involved (house cars, etc) and whether or not the divorce will be contested (meaning do both parties agree on all or most issues).

If possible she can go on her day off or on her lunch break and get a do it your self package it cost like 20 dollars and the filing fee is 362.00. if there are kids involved the cheapest way to go would be a paralegal they charge half the price.. My fiance and I are in Zephyrhills and he paid 1200 to a paralegal for his divorce not including the 362.00 to file the papers with the court.. Lawyers charge twice that amount probably more if there are children involved..
