My breasts have been really sore since last Wed. Like before I get my period but worse and my period isn't due until next week. My nipples are extremely sensitive and my breasts feel so heavy and sore. I've been living in a sports bra. I called my gyn and she said to come in for a breast exam later today.
I've never specifically had a breast exam other than when they check them out during a pap test. Will this be any different?

Only SERIOUS ansewers.

The link below describes how to do a self-breast exam; this is something your doctor will do when you go in, only more thorough because he/she is accustomed to way the tissue feels and can discern below regular tissue and fibroids.

Often we feel tenderness in our breasts right before our period because of the hormones that are doing their work during the cycle. The last link talks about fibroids, which is common in many women, so do not be alarmed. Also, it is definitely something your gynecologist will feel almost immediately.

The most common signs of fibrocystic breasts include lumpiness, tenderness, cysts (packets of fluid), areas of thickening, fibrosis (scar-like connective tissue), and breast pain. Having fibrocystic breasts, in and of itself, is not a risk factor for breast cancer.

Remember to tell your doctor how your breasts feel and ask about fibroids. The more information you know, the better you will feel.

maximum OB/GYN's will meet you of their place of work the position they are going to bypass over your previous clinical historic previous and bypass over any paper artwork with you. they are going to also answer any questions you would have on the topic of why you got here in. once you've finished speaking with the clinical specialist in his place of work, then you will bypass to an exam room the position they'd have you ever undress out of your waist down the position he can carry out a pap smear. when you're pregnant, they are going to also carry out an united statesthe position you may want to or would no longer see your babies heartbeat (depending how far alongside you're).
