my son is constantly nagging me to let him go onto habbo, he was on there before & i found an awful lot of bullying,swearing & sexual suggestions going on so i banned him from using it..what does everyone else think?

I used to go on there, and since i had spent money, just a few days ago i went back. People are very rude, mostly males were cussing and making sexual suggestions, as well as calling people every name there is. Habbo has a filter but people put periods in the middle of words so it doesnt filter it out. Theres always someone in like every room trying to start a fight with someone. Its basically a bunch of 13-17 year olds talking crap to each other and getting in bed with each other and pretending different things.

The site is aimed at folk over the age of 13 but is open about the fact that many users are over 18. It is one of the safer chat-zones but still as you said, there is a lot of sexual suggestion on the site - as with most sites, mostly from 13-16yr olds.

Well I go on there all the time i think the appropriate age is 11-12 maybe 13 but I do think u are doing the right thing!!

13 plus but I think that male perverts use this site to target young children. On occassions I have allowed my daughter to use I found the chat was to sexual I have now blocked this site. I do not allow my child to access it.

go with ur mom instincts
if u have any bad feeelings about it then dont allow it
even if they are small feelings about it
better be safe than sorry
I wouldnt let my child go I would rather have my child mad at me for a while then what could happen which could be anything
your child will get over being angry at you but just think of what could happen if u let your child go and something happens really bad to your child
i wouldnt let your child go

u did not say how old child is.....but no matter the age he is going to find all the things u mentioned in everyday life...watching TV...movies...school... social events and even the mall.....life happens...kids grow and are subjected to all kinds of situations...all you can do is try to explain the right and wrongs of life and then cross your fingers that he makes the right choices...best of luck...

I'm not familiar with the site, but YOU are the adult in charge & if you are getting a negative feeling about it, then you should go with your "gut" feeling, because chances are high that you are correct!
