Well there were quite a few. A couple of things that come to my mind right away are the depression Germany was. The treaty that ended WWI totally ticked off Germany because they felt it was unfair and targeted them. Oh and a guy by the name of Adolf Hitler used these things in his propaganda machine not only to get elected and take over the government, but also to head to war.

Well, Hitler's aggression and constant lying throughout the late 30's. That is the major cause of the war. Now, the US and their business in the war was a bit different. FDR wanted into the war in the worst way but until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor-we didnt really have a way in. That bombing is what catapulted the US into the war and enabled us to help defeat Germany, Japan and Italy. I believe if it weren't for the US, everyone in Europe would be saying Heil Hitler to this day.

I think the Treaty of Versaille as it demanded that Germany pay for the war debt and all damages. This in addition to the world wide depression of the 20s left the country in a weak state. Enabling Hitler to rise to power by blaming the jews and other countries for the problems within. Once in power his dictatorship meant the country was a one party system. Also his successes in reentering the Rhineland, the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland, gave the German people a pride and belief in themselves again which the nazis were able to exploit to push the country into WW2
