Are you really willing to support our troops? Or are you giving lip service here?

No... I already pay enough taxes. Maybe they should have thought of these things before they send people into Iraq. Or maybe they should trim spending from other areas -- like the bridge to nowhere or other pork barrel spending.

I make over $40,000 a year and have the same 75% tied up in bills as you do. Modest house, modest car, student loans (out the ying yang)--so I could make $40,000 per year.

You are asking for forced contribution, which is taxation.

Assuming you really want to know the answer to your question, and are not just making a slam about the troops' armor as a political statement.

*No because I don't agree with this war to begin with. Why not put the money for people who suffered tragedy from things like Katrina. I'm sure a lot of those people haven't fully recovered from that yet and maybe for some..they never will. Put the money toward the survival of people not for the deaths.

I am a Republican making less than that a year, so I guess I'm immune to your ridiculous idea. The whole armor thing has been pretty well wrapped up, thank you. Most soldiers there don't want any more armor, because it is heavier and slows them down.

Absolutely!

I already give time, money and/or services to various groups, including military ones.

I pay a hefty portion of my income in taxes too.

so you only think the people making a certain amount of money should be paying for the troops gear?

isn't that a form of class descrimination?
