Assuming you have not been completely remiss, and do have some information on the subject (how long ago was the assignment given?), have references ready, and at least average writing skills, you should be able to do it in less than 4 hours.

I believe that the last time I had a school assignment like that, it probably took about 2 hours and got an "A". From a cold start, i.e. knowing nothing about the subject, but with a computer at my disposal, I would imagine (there were no computers or printers then, just a typewriter) I could have done it in 6 hours. Better get yourself in gear.

There is a real good case for doing assignments as soon as you can after you get them, not leaving them until time is critical. That applies to more than schoolwork.

Time to get started then! I've had to do a few of these under pressure this semester. So far I've not had a problem getting A's, but writing comes naturally to me. (Unlike math and physics--blech) Organize your ideas for where you want your paper to go, do some quick and effective research, sketch it and stay focused! Good luck.

I'm a college graduate in languages. I aced Honors Composition and get A's on my papers, including my graduate studies now.

I can knock out a 30 page research paper in 8 to 10 hours. I doubt you can do that. Begin early and give yourself lots of time. Do it a few days before it is due. The next day, look it over and edit where you see it could be polished. Repeat the next day. Then turn it in.

I did this in a few hours several times while I was in college and graduate school. I had all A's and B's. You can do it!
