Jinxed.. no..
In recent seasons, the Wings have had the kind of team that can breeze through the regular season, but we've seen what happens recently in the first round of the playoffs.. This year, the Wings will have to claw, scratch and fight for every point and I think that will give them a better shot at playoff success.. Why did Edmonton roll the Wings last season.. because they were already in playoff format the last several weeks of the season and the Wings coasted in, but were not prepared for the physicality of a playoff run.. The Wings will be very unimpressive this regular season, but I think they will have a better run in the playoffs.. Time will tell..

The Wings have contended for years, and can make the playoffs this year. Zettenberg will turn it around and start putting points up. I think there is no jinx on the Red Wings.

Yes and No, they had alot of success back in 97 and 98 when they beat My Philadelphia Flyers and the Washington Capitals, I think its who ever wins the president trophy for the best record will not win the cup. the Wings have won it 3 out of the last 4 years and have done poorly in the playoffs. They did take a hit when Stevie Y retired and when Fedorov went the Blue Jackets. They have had problems with goaltending becuase they keep changing goalies thats my theory

No the Wings aren't jinxed. They're tied for the division lead and playing a little better as of late.

My thoughts are like the rest. They look pretty decent this year. No they wont blow everyone out of the water but they can compete. The next 100 years? Lets just play out this year first. Its just like people say about the Canadiens. If you ever have doubts about whom will win the cup, pick the Habs because they dont have 24 Stanley Cups for nothing..

Sorry Georgie the Wings aren't jinxed. They are always contenders! Maybe stick to baseball, you seem to know your stuff over there! Glad to see you changed your Avatr back!

ya you sound like a real Wings fan let alone a Hockey fan period. the Wings are tied with Nashville in the Central division and they are going to make the playoffs no matter what. yes they did really dumb moves on picking Hasek which he always gets injuries and Osgood that hasn't been a starter in the past 5 to 6 years. they have a younger team then they did in the past and yes it really hurt them losing one of the best all around players in NHL history Steve Yzerman.

Check the last time Detroit won the cup versus some or the other orig. 6.
Would you rather cheer for Chicago or Toronto?

Wow. I suggest you leave hockey town. They won a Cup only a few years ago. What data do you have to possibly support the claim that they won't win another cup in this century?
