First of all, do you have your prosthetic yet? If you don't have your prosthetic, some easy ones would be to do simple leg lifts while lying on the floor, Start on your back then go to each side.
You can take a blanket and roll it into a bedroll to use also. Lay it on the floor underneath your calves. Then take turns with each leg pushing down towards the floor, this helps keep those muscles going in the "bad" leg. Something that I do now when I am resting my leg, (especially at bedtime) is to lay on the bed and push downward with my stump. It helps get the blood moving again in that part of my leg.
One of the things I am scared of is losing more of my leg, so periodically during the day and at night, I give my stump a good brisk rub for a while to help the blood flow. It's been two years since my accident and I still have decent muscle tone in that leg. Just take it slowly and if it hurts, back off on th4e exercises a little. And if you have your prosthetic, normal exercises work great as long as you don't overdo it. There are going to be things that you can do right off and others that you will have to build up to.
If you need another amputee to talk with, feel free to message me, I was at a complete loss when I lost part of my leg. There are no support groups in my area and it was a real struggle because everyone else didn't know what I was going through. Good luck, I hope this helps a little.
