I want to get my master's degree in education and online classes would be a lot easier for me than going to traditional classes. I keep getting emails from the University of Phoenix, and it looks pretty good but I don't know anybody who has actually received a degree from there. I could use any feedback you can provide!

Many places see University of Phx as a Degree mill. Especially if your going into teaching. Colleges are often more picky about where you go to school. If you have other options available you might want to consider them.

THE BIG TEST IS see how the degree is viewed by future potential employers.

My brother has worked at UoP for 2 years now. The class structue is unique. all of your classes are kinda melted into one program of study. He seems to like it.
Problem is that most of the credits are difficult to transfer if you do switch schools later

It is prety dang expensive compared to state universities.

At the Master's level, MANY traditional 4-Year universities offer online degrees. I live in Arizona, and at ASU, they offer electrical engineering master's degrees, MBAs, etc. The degree will not state that you got it online.. it will be the same exact degree handed to someone who attended classes on campus. Look at your local universities, because you may get a discounted tuition fee for residents. I personally would prefer to attend a traditional university, because so many employers are picky about the school. DeVry for example is a regionally accredited school, and is also ABET accredited, and yet engineering companies do not recognize graduates as engineers. I don't know if you would run into the same problem as an educator, but I do know that if a program started up in your home state, credits may not easily transfer from UofP, so you will be stuck with their program.

Check the schools accreditation. If you are going for education, you are best to go to an on campus program because of the nature of the classes. Some programs are better suited for the online environment than others and I wouldn't consider education a good one for online.

I have checked out the University of Phoenix and in some states in the US they are not accredited these so called degrees. They not recongined in Europe that for sure, save your money and go to a local University and don't waste your money on that so called Univeristy.

Personally, I would evaluate what a Master from UofP is going to look like to the employers that I want. Many employers know today that degrees are easy to get - so they want to know more about where you went, your GPA, your curriculum, other activities, and extraordinary achievements.

Nothing worth doing is ever easy.
