First ,Transylvania is a Region of Romania. Second Count Dracula is based, on a Romanian historical figure (not a count but a King and also not a vampire but just as nasty anyway), called Vlad Tepes( The Impaler) also know (surname) as Draculea or as more common Dracula. This name means Son of the Dragon and Son of the Devil, It came from Dracul (His father's surname, he was a member of the order of the Dragon). Third the vampire folklore, usually refers to the Eastern European legends, but in truth there is tales of the dead craving blood , found in every culture around the world since ancient times.

Bran Castle has been considered Dracula's Castle for years. The actual Dracula's Castle (now in ruins) was located on the Arges River in Central Romania--Vallachia Region. Its been said it was rebuilt by Vlad Tepes A.D. 1457. The castle has 135 rooms with the bathrooms being very small to where you have a hard time moving around. The guy who received the Dracula name did take the blood from his victims, but in a different manner. He'd tie his victims to a chair and have their blood drained into a 5 gallon bottle.

Transylvania is a historical region in the center of Romania. As a political entity, Transylvania became a part of the Kingdom of Hungary in the 11th century. It then successively became an autonomous principality under Ottoman suzerainty in 1541, a part of the Habsburg Monarchy in 1711 (Austria-Hungary after 1867), and a part of the Kingdom of Romania after World War I.

In short, yes it really exists. Please check out the web site listed as my source.

Transylvania really does exist and Dracula was from that place but he didn't drink blood. He actually murdered people, he tortured people so much. From him doing these things the rumors started and therefore that is where drinking blood came from

Trasylvania was a region of old Europe where Romania and its surrounding countries exist today. The name "Transylvania" simply means "Through the woods".

Yes, there is, in Romania. There was a ruler there, Vlad the Impaler. It was said he drank the blood of his enemies, hence the Dracula stories, and left their bodies mounted on stakes around the boundaries of his land.

With a little investigation, you'll find that he was trying to keep his neighbors from invading his peoples' land and did his best to scare them off. Not to say he was a great guy, but he was trying to keep from having to go to war.
