My husband likes the online casino's and I want to prevent him from being able to download any of them on my computer. I hate these things and he won't respect my wishes to not play. Is there a way to go into the computer and block programs that you don't want to block?

Well, downloads are manual, that is,unless we command them to be downloaded, they don't download themselves(in most of the cases except trojans and some viruses). So,if ur hubby downloads somethings willingly,it can't be pre-blocked,coz we don't know which site he is going to download from.
If u know the site/sites he downloads from, then it's a bit simpler.U need to install a firewall, and disable that particular site from being opened at all.He won't be able to access that site at all, once u customise the rules of the firewall.
I don't know if i shud be sayin this or not,but maybe, try lookin into the fact as to why does he need that distraction/leisure;so much so that u hate it?Maybe u cud find some answer, some way to hold him to u,and not to lifeless games.I apologise for steppin my limits though.

Yeah you could make his account as a regular user and your account a administator. Basicly he will not be able to download / install any programs that are not allow with by the admin.

You should do a search on to be a Administator or Administating a System. You will find sites to help you understand it better.

edit* forgot to mention that it is consider local security so do a search for that aswell.
