I would like to know why there are people out there that are still backwards and ignorant in their thought process? I'm not asking to make people mad, I'd just like to know the reasonings please.

there always will be.When Kids grow up and their Parents are racist,the Kids be most lightly the same,if the learn how to treat and respect others,the will.that's why People hate Blacks,Gays,Lesbians,instead off tolerating others,the hate them,a intelligent Person looks beyond that,and looks at the person as a Person.If people weren't like that ,the world would be a better Place.What ever you are,don't worry,just be kind,sweet and treat others with Respect,you will be OK.I can see you care,you seem to be a sweet Person,all the Best to you.

It's easier than expanding your mind, getting out of your comfort zone and exposing yourself to new things and people. It's painful to think what you thought was true your whole life really wasn't, so many people would rather stay in a hole.
Then there are people who are just small and probably couldn't stop being backwards and ignorant if they tried, which they won't.

the "backward" or "ignorant" ways of thinking have persisted for an extremely long time.... social change is a painstakingly slow process- while it's frustrating to encounter intolerance to human differences- progress continues to happen- albeit far too slowly..

I think true/pure ignorance is within that person. Sometimes, people are brought up to believe certain things and it brain washes them. Others can over look the stupidity they dealt with while growing up.

People are afraid of what they do not understand. That or they're afraid that they will become what they fear the most, so they lash out against other people.
