I tried and tried to solve this but im stumped.
Manigrasso Parcel Company specializes in shipping parcels. The cost of shipping a package is $1.07 for each half of a kg shipped. there are 1000 g in a kg and 500 g in a 1/2 kg. Amanda, Rebecca, Anthony, John, Stephaine, Julia, and Sean each have 1 package to ship. Each package is a different mass (10kg, 399g, 2.1 kg, 783g, 9.2kg, 4kg 70g, and 5kg 26g). Figure out who has which package, the mass of the package, and the cost to ship the package.
1. It will cost $9.63 to ship Julias package
2. Anthonys package costs the most to ship.
3. Rebeccas package is 4,243 grams lighter than Stephanies package.
4. John's package is 8,801g heavier than Amanda's package.

1. Julia, $9.63, 4kg 70g You know what it costs and you know cost per mass. Solve for mass. This should actually be 4.5 kg. Everything else works out. Check your numbers.

2. Anthony, $21.40, 10 kg The greatest cost goes with the greatest mass.

3. Rebecca, $10.76, 5kg 26g
Stephanie, $1.68, 783g Subtract 4243g from all masses greater than 4243g, except 10kg (as that is already spoken for). Find the match.

4. John, $19.69, 9.2kg
Amanda, $0.85, 399g Add 8801g to all masses (except those already taken) until you find a match.

Sean, $4.49, 2.1kg This is the only mass left.
