no matter how the terrorists have tried, they haven't succeeded. And, sure, they'll eventually succeed. But the FACT is they HAVE NOT. Regardless of your political affiliation, can't you at least be GRATEFUL for that?
Notice that I didn't use any LABELS. . .. . .like libtard or neo-con, or repuglicans or democraps. Try not using those types of words, you'll look alot more intelligent.
Soooooo, Are you GRATEFUL?

I'm very grateful.
As you can see there are Libs on here, who only want to attack Pres. Bush for the terrorist attack that happened 8 months after he got in the White House. I blame 9/11 on Bill Clinton. If he had kept his man part in his pants and actually did his job, 9/11 would never have happened.
God Bless G.W. Bush!

I am very grateful for that. I don't credit Bush with it though. I credit those who are keeping watch on all the intel and who do their homeland security jobs with 9/11 in the back of their minds at all times. I think a Democratic president would have taken the same action, ie Homeland Security. That deserves no special recognition on Bush's part. The last big plot was foiled by England, and I'm grateful for that too. It takes a lot more than expected action to be a great President. Bush couldn't fit that label if he tried to buy it.

You're kidding right? You said a great deal more than simply asking if we were grateful.

Why exactly should I be grateful? That I personally haven't been the victim of a terrorist attack? Virtually every soldier who dies in Iraq is the victim of a terrorist attack. Is is that they don't count because they're not on American soil? What about the 7 years and 11 months between the time of the first world trade center attack and when Clinton left office? If Bush is great for 5 years then Clinton should be considered a spectacular president for nearly 8.

You have got to be kidding, right? You really believe it's because of the wonderful job our president is doing? Do you watch any news besides FOX? There are thousands of illegal people streaming over our southern border each and every day. Do you know who all of these people are, where they are coming from, or what their intentions are? What about the 9/11 commissions recommendations that have not been implemented. How about the Dubai Ports World deal that was supposed be squashed so that America would control its own ports? That has not happened. How about the proposal to make North America one giant country without borders? You for that also? We have been lucky, period. What will you say when it happens again? Will you then say the day after another attack, what a wonderful job our president is doing, we haven't been attacked in a day. To answer your question. I'm grateful our president only has two more years.

There have been hundreds of terrorists attacks in the past 5 years. Many americans have died, mostly soldiers, but many many american civilians have died also. According to the US intelligence services (under bush administration) Iraq has increased the number of terrorist recruits, and increased the terroism threat to Americans. The fact that they take 3-6 years to plan an attack does not mean that bush is a genius, it means that the terrorists are still plotting.
No, I'm not grateful for what Bush has done, and I'm sending a message to all those who supported him and rumsfeld when I vote.

We haven't been attacked because we are protected by two giant moats: the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
He has not done an effective job at eliminating terrorism.
The worst atttack in American History, other than Pearl Harbor, occured on his watch. He hasn't kept us safe, he has increased exponentially the hatred much of the world feels towards us. This will make OUR children far less safe until it heals.
You can't kill all the terrorists! When you kill one, you create another. When you kill innocent people, you create many.
Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have died in Iraq! Their families blame us, even if it wasn't our fault. That blame is going to haunt us for generations.
He doesn't understand the world around him, and that is dangerous.
Now, I know the right wingers are going to mark my answer down. But I too refrained from any ad hominen attacks. The fact is our world is less safe. what are WE going to do to change that?

As I'm a Brit, let me give you the view of the rest of the world.
He pulled out of Kyoto, the only serious move against global warming, he pulled out of treaties on biological weapons and nuclear weapons. He started an illegal war (every expert on international law agrees with this BTW) that has created hell on Earth in Iraq. All the while he's slashed economic help to the poorest and most needy and passed laws that would make the average dictator proud (e.g. Patriot Act).
He speaks about democracy, yet electoral fraud in the US is on the increase and his administration is giving money to groups who launched an armed coup against the democratically elected leader of Venezuela.
No terror attacks in 5 years - where? The US. I guess you missed the increasing numbers of terrorism attacks by islamic fundamentalists everywhere else in the world (including 2 in the UK, 1 in which my sister was hurt). Both the US and UK Governments admit that the liklihood of another terrorist attack has increased since the invasion of Iraq.
A good President - no a Bad one. One who looks out for the needs of a few special interests (oil, big business, Christian fundamentalists) at the expense of everyone else.

*Don't do your celebtating till we tatally know for sure that it's over.So much has happened in the 5 years since.Iraq more than likely has been doing a lot of planning in the 5 years past.Don't even dream that America is in the clear.Bush has nothing to do with the lack of terrorist attacks-He only helped it begin. You won't know where and you won't know when but their next plot against America is gonna be a biggy.Don't forget-Iraq never forgives and certainly never forgets. So don't do your little victory dance yet as it's gonna take a lot more to happen before we truly get to the end.

Are you serious? I mean really? 3000 guys have died in road side bombs. They are still dieing. that isn't a terriorist attack?
Our lives don't mean anything? If your a soldier your death doesn't count as a terriorist attack?
Am I grateful that I lost dozens of friends and seen more have arms and legs blown off and hands and put out their eyes and blown half their face off? Just to keep two different religious radicals from killing each other. What constitutes a terror attack?
They hate each other more than they hate us.
If it is a man than that isn't a terror attack?
