I just wasn't in the Halloween spirit this year and didn't even bother to decorate my porch. But now, I've change my mind and I need to come up with something fast. I know all about the skeleton from a milk carton and white trash bags for ghosts kind of stuff. I'm looking for something a little cooler than that. Thanks!

OK, after the first response, let me add that I'm BROKE and live 30 miles from a store.

I saw this in a magazine years ago and I get comments every year.

Take some dark paper cut to the size of your window/s. I used black poster board so it would last for a couple years.

Take some chalk to out line some eyes (cartoon eyes) and with a scissors or exacto knife cut out the eyes. Then take some tissue paper (yellow, lime green or white works best) and tape the tissue paper over the cut out eyes (it looks best if the tissue paper is facing the inside of your house).

Place the completed decorations across your windows and turn on the interior lights. The eyes will glow outside.

So I could keep them to reuse over and over again, I also purchased some Clear Shelf Paper and I covered the tissue paper to reinforce the tissue paper to prevent the tissue paper from tearing. I've reused the decorations for at least 6 years.

How about a big spider? Just cut some strips out of a black trash bag for the legs and then use a ball or balloon, slip it inside another black trashbag and use that as the body. You can lay it on the ground or attach it to your door or whatever you decide. To make the eyes, just use printer paper and cut some out. Good luck with your last minute decorating!

Make some cute ghosts. Get some white tissues or paper towels, bunch some up in a ball, wrap another one around it put a rubber band around the (neck) and use marker to add eyes. Hang them from trees or where ever.

Paper lunch bags, spray-painted with speckled gray paint, can turn into funny Halloween toombstones. That's what my appartment door is decorated with :) You can google funny headstone sayings and get a list, or make up your own to write on the bags.
