I have seen way to many attack ads from candidates on both sides of the fence who are accusing the other of terrible things. Will those ads directly affect the way you vote this election?

I think a way that they could best convene their messages would be to focus on what they are FOR, versus what someone else is for. I would rather hear what they can offer to me as a citizen if elected into whatever position they are running for.

Some times those ads can get so down and dirty, misleading and innapropriate, that it reminds me of being back in school.

I agree the candidates should focus on what they are for.

I know the ads will not influence my vote. I know what I am for. I know the core beliefs of one party are similar to my core beliefs. So, philosophically I vote for one party.

However, I believe the attack ads will have a tendancy to keep voters home and suppress turnout. But the turnout may be suppressed for both sides with no real impact on the overall outcome.

The answer is one week away.

The attack ads are annoying and seem to me to be a waste of time and money. I would rather see a candidate put thier advertising money in a pool and help out a good cause than hear about thier opponents 5th grade pimple outbreak!

It is ridiculous, and I feel like both parties think we-the citizens, the people-are idiots and can be influenced by these ads.

I hope that most people will use thier knowledge of the facts, and ask for the opinions of respected friends and family if they are unsure. Anything but base a vote on a campaign ad.

I don't read any of the ads. To me if a person is honest they will knock at my door and offer me a brochure and allow me to ask them specific questions. The sorriest SOB's today are the newspapers pushing their ideas of who the best candidate is in their own opinion. I wouldn't believe anything they print now a days on their recomendation.

No, they are really not going to influence my vote at all. You can dig up dirt on just about anyone... I think what really matters this election is what side you are voting for since there could be a shift of power in congress.

It was really funny here in Michigan. One of the candidates started out in his commercials talking about how attacking each other would be senseless... Now his commercials are by far the nastiest and he goes for the throat every time. It makes him look like an idiot.

No. I made up my mind before the ads started. I know exactly what each candidate stands for and what or whom they support. An intelligent voter doesn't pay attention to these ads.

No. The people slinging the most mud are the ones I wasn't going to vote for in the first place.

I see the republicans grasping at straws and the democrats focusing their ads on things like Iraq and Healthcare. So yes, I support the democrats.

None of the attack ads have changed any of my votes. Waste of money as far as I'm concerned.
