global warming exists whether u agree with it or not, sattelite pictures taken of melting glaciers over the two poles proves it, it's melting at an alarming rate, and allready top sciencetists all over the world say that if we don't do anything about it now, in 50 years time people will be dieing in thier millions from lack of rainfall, floods, heat exhaustion, etc.we must act now!!! before its too late, (remember the story of the titanic, nature versus technology, nature won. its a wakeup call to all!!

It is truth. And the conservative politics may be partly right that humans are not creating all the problem. Still, they are missing the point. It is happening & we better start getting prepared for it.
The truth is, Global warming is occurring, no matter what the reasons for it. It will create heavy challanges for us as the planet heats up, like raised water levels taking up what is now usable land, more severe weather causing more displaced people, drastic local climate change that create deserts out of lush farmland or forest, extinction of species who do not have the ability to adapt, Collapsed economic systems as hundreds of millions are displaced, wars over adequate clean water and other disappearing resources, & on & on..
I think we are past the point of stopping global warming, but we have the knowlege and ability to slow it down, giving everthing and everybody more opportunity to adapt to the changing conditions. We can stop the wholesale clearing of forests which produce almost all of the world's oxygen by using up carbon dioxide, & start replacing them. We can learn to live & prosper with less energy use, smaller cars & mass transit, replaceable energy & materials sources, more environmentally friendly life styles & manufacturing processes The 2 most abundant power sources available are solar and hydrogen, yet we have only scratched the surface of their promise.
You asked for opinions. That's my soapbox speeh.

The earth is far too cold. Fresh water is wasted as ice, fertile land is frozen into uselessness. We should try to produce global warming and invest in channeling the thawed resources instead of acting like they are just going to drown us.
The debate is unproductive because it begs the question by assuming that global warming is automatically bad and diverts the discussion into whether this false catastrophe is happening or not.

People.... Fossils and remains prove that Iceland was once a forest with wildlife. Global warming is real, but a natural event. The problem is that if a scientist were to report back to the government that it is a natural occurrence and nothing can be done, his funding would be dismissed. So, in order to keep their funding flowing, scientist have concocted a wonderful story that will never have an end.

Of course do i believe in global warming, it's a fact!
Isn't it interesting that almost all of the skeptic scientists work for the
US government and/or for multinational companies that make billions of dollars while polluting this planet the most?

I do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take the profit out of energy investments .
How do you do that .
Raise capitol gain taxes on energy investments to 75% this will force investors to locate money elsewhere in the economy .Oil companies pay investors by raising rates to consumers .We are all consumers ,but only those rich enough to invest in energy stocks can effectively reduce the share they pay for energy .This leaves the burden for paying for energy on the working people who can not afford to off-set the cost of energy by investing in it .
Its like a pot grower who smokes his own supply .His cost is that of growing the pot which he in-turn passes on to the users .If he had investors to pay who also smoked but where getting a huge return on the investment then they effectively get the pot for free.
The cost is passed on to the buyers .
Since we all use energy we need to make the profit on energy non -existent .
We can do that as i have said "by making it un-attractive to investors and by making the companies invest all the profits into new technologies that burn clean .
Those profits come from over charging the customers .
Capitalism takes what it can from the workers and gives as little back as possible .
Seeing as how most people must work for a living and do not have the luxury of investing we can look at other areas that need improvment and tailor our tax structure to make investing pay off for workers .

Global warming is a bunch of pseudoscience crap. The computer models they use cannot even 'predict' what the temperature was 10 years ago. It's just the left's equivalent of the war on terror. The right scares us with, "the terrorist are going to get you without our help". The left scares us with, "global warming is going to get you without our help." The planet has been constantly changing. 1.8 degrees shift in either direction over a 100 year period is hardly reason for panic.

I do, but I don't think anyone really knows why it is occurring. Just a bunch of hypothesis. On the other hand, we should be responsible and take precautionary measures, just in case we are the cause.
