I have sang with choirs and choral groups of varying sizes all my life but I am a bit bored with the traditional chamber choir technical repertoire that leave little room for enjoyment. Does anyone know of a jazz or acapella choir or a group that sings more than Tallis and Bach (!!) I am an alto. Need to keep singing!

Where do you live? I know of plenty of choirs in Manchester and Scotland, and work for an organisation called Sing for Pleasure, so have many contacts all over the country to choirs with mixed repertoire.
You could e-mail me if there's not room here.
Just off to rehearsal now, but will contact you later if need be.
All the best.

check out www.gerontius.net
it's a national website for choirs to register, you should find details of what they sing, rehearsal times etc.

or try going to concerts by local amatuer choirs - if you like what you hear grab one of the singers afterwards to ask about joining

You don't actually say where you are!!

There are several good choirs around blackheath but that only helps if you live near there!!!
