the only story that ever freaked me out was the urband legand with 'the dog under the bed'.
you might be able to search it for better details but here is the basic storyline:
a girl is home alone, and keeps hearing noises in the house, everytime she goes to check them - she'd come back to her bedroom and stick her hand under the bed, and her dog would lick it. shed be nervous about the noises, but the dog would always make her feel better. so after this happening a few times she hears loud drips. she goes to the bathroom, opens the shower curtain and sees the dogs head hanging from the shower top and the blood is dripping down into the tub- the girl runs back to the bed, looks underneath, and theres a note saying, "people have tongues too".

So two parents are going out for the night. They left a new babysitter in charge. After they left they realized they forgot to give her the emergency #'s so the mother calls the house. The babysitter answers. The mother tells her all the emergencies numbers and asks her if she needs anything else. She says "yeah, can I watch the cable in the bedroom because I don't want to miss my favorite show?" the mother replies " yeah no problem, anything else? The babysitter answers with "Yeah...I know this is going to sound kind of stupid but can I put a blanket or something over the clown statue in the kids room? it kinda freaks me out" there's a pause and the mom replies.. ".....go upstairs.....get the kids.....go to the neighbors house....and call the police, we don't have a clown statue"
The killer was later found in another home and it turns out he was going to kill the children after they fell asleep.

It was a stormy night.... a young teeanage girl was home alone for the weekend. She was siting on the sofa watching a movie, when all of the sudden a streak of lighting struck the sky... she looked ot the window at the same moment and thought she saw afigure. then the lightnig struck again. then she realizred it was a man standing ouside her living room window with a knife in his hand she freaked out. she grabbed the phone and dialed 911 when the police arrived the comander came up to and said..."It was a good thing you called us mame he wasnt outside...(then put your arm around hteir sholder and say...) He was right behind you!"
