Hi when having a sprain it can be just as painful as a fracture, swelling, pain,,bruising. You need to keep your foot elevated when possible higher then your heat, apply a cold compress, rest when you can, check for circulation,if you notice your foot is feeling either hot or cold or your toes are going blue this is all to do with bad circulation,so you need to see you gp straight away.If you have tubigrip wear it and take it off at night times,if you havent you can purchase these at chemist or boots, these are just for extra support.Sprains can take anything up to 2 mths all according how bad the sprain is.Take regular pain relief, ibrufen is the best as it has anti-inflammtry.If you not getting any better or the swelling and the pain is getting worse go see your gp for more advice.Good Luck

You can't tell without an X-ray. I learnt that on a first aid course. Sometimes you can't even feel when it's broken because the muscles pull the bone together but it's the 2 ends rubbing that causes the pain. Go to hospital and get an X-ray hopefully it's just a sprain but you might need to lay of the TKD for a couple of weeks and get crutches. Do it soon cos a broken bone starts healing within 30 minutes of the accident so it might need setting, hopefully not.Good luck :)

With you having the children and having to move about, its going to take a lot longer to heal, make sure you keep your foot firmly supported with a bandage, not too tight as to restrict your blood flow, and any chance you get put your feet up an rest, remove your bandage when in bed at night. Good luck.

Put ice on it and keep your weight off of it. And if its that bad go to see a doctor.
I was out running last year in the park and i though i sprained my ankle.I limped around for 3 weeks thinking it would get better on its own when i did go and get it looks at it turned out that i had a stress fracture in my fibia.

Stay off of it, ice on it about every hour and prop up. It will take a couple days to heal.

it will take a few weeks maybe months depending on how bad you have hurt it. have you had it checked out though you may of broken it if it still hurts to weight bear. best thing is r.i.c.e and see if you know anyone who has a spare set of crutches to borrow for when its really bad so your not stuck in the house... hope it helps :D

All you can do is try to stay off it and elevate it when you can.
