If you ask me it has everything to do with elections. Did you see where Exxon Mobil made the 2nd largest profits in history? The first was during the Katrina catastrophe when prices went sky high. Of course, the government's response to a news reporter that asked that question was they had no influence on gas/oil prices. I just don't believe it, I guess.

Take advantage while you can. If the Democrats take over the Congress they'll slap a huge tax on gasoline to pay for more Snail darters or to support some other giveaway program for people who are too lazy to go to work. Redistribution of wealth ala communisim will once again raise it's ugly head and say "I actually voted for it before I voted against it."

It called conservation works to get gas prices down. Once people started using less gas the supply started to back up and the oil barons started to drop prices. However don't get used to that price once bush pushes Iran into war you'll think 5.00 a gallon is cheap.

Oil prices change on a daily basis. Oil prices influence the price of gasoline. That is what is going on.
