My favorite haunted-house memories involve the haunted houses put on by my local Boy Scout troops that I visited as a youngster.

Those Scouts and their dads really went out! Super creative. really large, and a nice mixture of fun and fright. They usually found a great big abandoned building (once a former department store) and made great use of the space.

In honor of Halloween, describe your favorite haunted house (recent or long ago) of all time...

I vaguely recall one haunted house my parents' took me to when I was really young. Throughout most of it, they had strobe lights going so you couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't. There was one part where we were told to sit on a bench (young kids like I was at the time had to sit on our parents' laps). During this there was a monster trying to break out of a cage. Right as the bars started to bend, a small shock was sent through the bench making everyone jump. Another part of this same one was a mad scientist operating on this man who was screaming. I remember very clearly that they had real white mice running around on the table. My older brother was scared to death. I just thought it was funny!

Mine. I live in a haunted house. The doors would slam shut and you could hear people walking up and down the stairs and in the attic. It was scary. But the best fake haunted thing would have to be a haunted forest i worked in. I work in it for seven years. It took 35 Min to walk Thur. They had a pyrotechnic and the hole shoebanngy.
