Ever since the end of September my period/body have been crazy. I have never been on BC and haven't had any unprotected sex, but I did have protected sex in September. The end of September my period came, but it was very short and light-4 days, normally it would be 7 w/ heavy bleeding. I thought nothing of it. Three weeks ago, my period came again, lasting 3 days/ very light. I started to question why I had another light period, but thought it was due to my grandmother dying/stress. A week later I am spotting, for 3 days. I go to the doctor, she does a urine test, comes out negative and says it could be hormonal issues, and schedules me for a pap. I'm like ok, but just to be sure, I take a hpt and it comes up negative, so I rule pregnancy out. But now I am spotting again, so is this a sign of some kind of health problem?

I am 21 and the pap is scheduled for Friday, but I feel like I might need to go in before then. I'm just becoming real frustrated because I don't what's going on with me.

You are NOT pregnant.

Periods change over time, and you might just be going through an adjustment. Stress, lack of exercise, too much exercise, poor eating habits - can all effect your period. And it sounds like you are stressing yourself out over this - which will just make it worse.

your period will change over time until you are finished with menopause.

It could be stress or your body going through natural changes. The doctor will know best and the PAP is a great idea. My cycle has been finny since September and I skipped one cycle altogether. I go to the doctor Friday but I am not really worried because hormone levels can change your cycle. Good luck with everything and try not to worry unless you are given a reason to!

I would ask your doc to do a blood test and see if your thyroid and/or hormones are out of whack. You could also have endomitriosis or fibroids that could be doing some weird things to you. I would just try to relax, wait for Friday and you and your doc will figure things out!
