Last year I came across mini highlighter pens on clearance so I let each child pick out two different colored pens - our house was the hit of the block! I gave a choice of the pens (I had 6 different colors) or candy, and I only had one or two children who wanted the candy.
This year I'm planning on handing out foams stickers and have a side bowl of candy for those who don't like stickers (and to munch on, of course). With so much candy, I've found most kids like "something different"...toys, rings, mini microwave popcorn bags (unpopped), etc.

I try to ignore this holiday like the plague that it is. It is a blight on the land. Worst holiday of the year. Should be ignored by everyone for their own good.
It is a good thing that my house is on a hill by itself and has two long steep driveways, so even when my porch light is turned on very few children bother to come to the door. If the house is dark there is no one that ventures up the driveways.

No I'm not. Been in this house for four years now and not one trick-or-treater ever! Be a waste of money and bad for my health cause I'd end up eating it!

Nope I live in a shady area so I dont really wanna be opening my doors to strangers especially being home alone and alllll

My house is way too far off the road, way too dark and I'm sooooo glad. My lights will be off and no one will even see the house. YES!
