nahh... no way... never! :) well yeah, it's another way for consumers and advertisers to profit since it's one of the major peak seasons in the year, plus it falls on pay day. :) but it has also been a fun-filled tradition in a lot of countries.

Halloween is most certainly overrated. Yes, it is a lot of fun etc...but companies and businesses take a lot of advantage over halloween (and valentine's day) as it is an advantage for them to make a lot of money. Think off all the useless and trivial things shops do and sell for valentine's day; they make such a a big deal and in a way force us to take part eg;by purchasing a strawberry-flavoured lollipop in the shape of a heart lool.

thanks 4 pointing it out. :D i'm going to boycott halloween by dressing up as a witch and giving a lecture to the manager of my local (halooween decorated) sainsbury's.

So sorry you feel that way - over here in America it's a whole lot of fun & many people look forward to it, not just the kids. Folks decorate their homes & yards, stores put up pumpkins & other Halloween themed decorations; it's just fun & it's bright, colorful & exciting.

It has definately become too commercialized. Just like Christmas and Valentine's Day. I live in the US and it's horrible the way greed and the quest for money have overridden the true meanings of certain holidays.

My vote goes to "over rated". With so much going on in the world and in our lives, we have to use old and altered, or gross-out traditions to celebrate autumn? There's something to the fun aspect, but for the most part, over rated. Sigh. Captialism is great, isn't it? ;)

i think it gives adults one time of the year to dress and be reminded of their childhood. overrated maybe but i think for the most part its just plain fun. you must really not like Christmas

never, it is just a bunch of fun, a reason for kids to dress in silly costumes and get candy. and a reason for adults to get together adn dress up and have a good laugh
