I took a EPT pregnancy test this morning. When I went back 5 minutes later to check the results I was a little confused. There was a very dark horizontal line then a light veriticle line. Is this a positive or a negative?

Go here while I try to find more information: http://www.peeonastick.com/

The e.p.t® Plus/Minus test uses a plus (pregnant) or minus (not pregnant) reading. Here are pictures to help you understand your results: http://www.pfizerch.com/uploadedFiles/product/EPT+-_Directions.pdf

If you have further questions you may call: 1-800-378-1783 (Spanish 1-800-337-7266)

Next time use: e.p.t Certainty® which uses an unmistakable “ Pregnant” or “ Not Pregnant” digital reading. That's what I used and it's pretty tom foolery proof. Plus it's like $2.00 more, a small price to pay for honest knowledge.

Several factors should be considered when you read the results of an at-home pregnancy test:

Did you take it with your first-morning unrine? First morning urine has the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone.

How many days until or since your period (to calculate your cycle)? If you are pregnant, but still a few days away from your expected period, the hormone may be at a low enough level to give a faint positive or not register on a test at all.

What brand did you use? Different brands of home pregnancy tests detect different levels of the pregnancy hormone. As an experienced surrogate mother, I have tried MANY different varieties. I found the First Response Early Detection and Answer Early to be the most reliable. Make sure you follow the directions and read the result in the time frame stated.

Of course, if your expected menstrual cycle start date comes and goes, then a doctor's visit could be in order!

Good luck!

it was a positive. If you wait a day or two and take another test, the second line will be darker. The first line is a control, while the other is sensitive to the hormone your body doesn't start producing until you're pregnant. I had the same thing happen with my first pregnancy, so we called the company's support line and they said that basically as long as you can see any part of that line, it's a positive.

Congratulations!

When i see a tender pregnant woman i don't pass judgement on until i do know the occasions. She would had been raped. Or probably if she wasnt she would had been in love with a boyfriend of 5 years. Lets say it was once a cherished boyfriend if they'd been in combination a minimum of a 12 months and a part and did what they did for the correct causes i see no motive to pass judgement on. They didnt do it on motive. There are billions of alternative teenagers doing the identical matters they only dont occur to get pregnant. There are adults who've one night time stands at all times so why is that ok however a teenager who in order that occurs to get pregnant together with her bf of four months isn't ok? I wager what im seeking to say is a pregnant teen shouldnt be judged until you realize all of the main points.

I took a pregnancy test and I had one dark line then a faint line and a I went and bought a new test and took it the next morning as soon as I woke up and that one was very clear.. I am now 36 weeks pregnant. Buy a new test and take it with your first morning urine because it will have more of the hormones it it if you are. Let me know if you are or not. :)

You might be a faint line does equal a positive, but the thing is you left it out longer then the box says, so lines can dry funny and make it appear as if it is positive. That is why you are supose to follow the directions stirctly, If I were you I'd take another test!

I think that you should take another test just to be sure. Buy another brand and see if the results show the same thing or something different, if you are still confused go to the doctors for confirmation and a blood test. Good luck and I wish you the best.

That's a positive. A line is a line is a line no matter how light or dark it is. Congrats, if you're confused take another one in a day or two, but like I said, a line is a line is a line.

This is a positive test, sometimes HPTs take something like 5 to 10 mins to give you the exact results

Positive....if any line, no matter how faint shows....it is meant to read as a positive...unless it shows up after 10 mins.....at 5 mins that is a reasonable test time....can always take another to double check or go ahead and make a Drs Appt.
