Suppose this power is real, how would one go about avoiding harming others? Heck, how would one be sure it's not a poltergeist, assuming they are real? What about sexual fantasies? You could end up psychically raping someone.

There are many powers that can be misused and cause harm, most martial arts for example. The issue is complex, for we all know how to control the urges to harm our self and others; however, we retain our free will also. The fear of harming others has nothing to do with acquisition of the telekinetic power or any other power, except the restrictions your own mind creates. Doubting existence of a power is also a mental block, is it not? Reach out for your potential. Good luck!

Who is to say this isn't going on all the time. Why would a man take his kids to school and then go and kill 5 young girls. He may say that he did it for a reason but was it really "his" reason or a thought just put in his head.
There may be more "powers" on this planet than you think.
