I'm sorry but some more questions must be answered before I can give you the correct answer. Type of vehicle, year, model, Hydraulic clutch or manual type. Do you hear any unusual noises coming from that area of the vehicle? One can speculate to no end about the problem, but it can be a spring off, the clutch master going bad, the slave going bad, or if you just had a clutch assembly installed, the flywheel needed shimmed back to it's original position to keep the linkage length the proper length. Have you had to add fluid to the clutch master cylinder reservoir? Another thing it might be is the release bearing went through the fingers of the pressure plate, as I have saw this before. Let me know and I will get back to you with the answer you need. Good Luck!!!

Dude you got some good answers. I can tell u this, if u have a slave cylinder on your car, u might want to check the fluid level of slave cylinder. Should be under your hood, looks like brakefluid container but not on the master cylinder. Pop the top and remove the black rubber, fill it to the appropriate level and place the black rubber back on top of the fluid, don't press it down, jus put the lid back on and lock it down. Press your prdal a couple times and your clutch pressure should build back up.

If you have a mechanical clutch, there's a return spring that brings the pedal back up. They fall off sometimes.

That happened to me in the car i used to have. It is the slave cylinder, linked to the master cylinder system. This part went bad and my pedal stayed flat on the floor. On my car it costed $200 to fix, total (parts & labor).

I would say your clutch is about to go out. It is worn. It has been adjusted to compensate until it is where it is.
