I have been going out and living with my man for 5 yrs and we talk about getting married , I am getting a little impatient should I ask him and if he says yes go ahead and plan?

If he hasn't asked you to marry him, accept the fact that he has no intention of doing so. He's obviously not ready or doesn't want to commit. My husband asked me to go ring shopping after 1 month of dating - if he thought you were truly right for him, your man would've done the same thing.

I'm surprised you haven't asked him yet. Five years is a long time to wait. By all means, tell him that you want to get married, and see what he says. Be prepared for him to say no, however.

If you both want to be married, you've got no problem other than not being clear about it. If you want to and he wants to procrastinate, you'd better check out your other options. You can't really talk about it if he's dodging the question. That would be the time to let him know you aren't any more committed to him than he is to you.
