Begin with "I hope we can come to a fair agreement on wages."

Start a little high - but don't overprice yourself, they might run then. Be willing to compromise with extra vacation time or other perks versus cash....

Good luck!!

First ask what is the best offer that your company can give for a test engineer with 2 yrs exp and got some rewards for excellent work previously, and willing to join this company.

Later after they give you a figure, then say it doesn't meet your expectations, even though its a 200% hike. Get as much out as you can. tell them that you need to think over it, and say how much they can give you above that and any perks after you complete first 6 months.....just keep them guessing...and try to find out how much it actually paying to its employees with 2yrs exp.

And you are not at all bad in expecting 100 % hike, 3 lac is industry norm for 2 yrs exp. If you get 4 lac ur lucky.

Your local job centre with have labour market results. Print out the range in your area for your position and bring it with you. Tell them you have researched the position and feel with your experience and past reviews, you feel that this would be a fair salary. Bring up success stories while you were at the company, projects you were in charge of etc
