USSR and the USA became superpowers after World War 2.
The British foreign policy was to prevent Germany from
taking over the continent. The Soviets actually worked with
the Nazis in 1939 by dividing up Poland. It wasn't until around
1941 unti the Soviets actually started battling the Germans.
USSR lost the most people during this war among the Allies,
while the USA provided supplies to the Allies, before they
officially entered the conflict. I don't think British foreign
policy was influenced by these two countries, until these
two countries joined the British in the fight against the Axis
Powers.

Both Russia and the USA became the Allies of Gt Britain during WWII. Following the declaration of war, Britain together with the help of Commonwealth, were very much on its own and indeed entered the war following the invasion by Germany of Poland. Although the USA did not directly enter the conflict until after Pearl Harbour, they did from the outset greatly assist the war effort with vital supplies.

Britain & Russia were under attack from Germany and the USA joined them in opposing Hitler (after Japan attacked the US). Foreign policy gets simpler when you are in a huge fight for your life, I think.
