why cant i connect my ps2 online?

i have westell 6100 modem and when i was able to connect i did using a direct connection no router. i have tried everything to make it work but nothing does it. verizon is my isp and i have had problems with them before. i dont know i just want to play online.
please someone help me as this problem sucks.

You need to register with Sony, they will send you a disc and a code and away you go. Don't worry, it's free.

try re installing the disk that came with the online adapter. just a suggestion
