I always thought it was so ironic and tragic that the very people who push for war and all its horrors are ALWAYS the last ones who would allow themselves and their families to actually fight that war. None of GW's family is there, none of Cheney's, or the GOP Majority whip. In the U.S. Senate today, only one out of 100 senators has a child in combat in Iraq. This is grossly disproportionate with the rest of the US population. It seems that these guys know that the consequences of war are always a terrible thing so they let other people do it for them--especially those (the poor, uneducated, legal immigrants and minorities) who feel they don't have a choice, are often the ones who enlist to fight, get hurt and die in conflicts that they're not even sure what the true cause is.

I think it would have been better for you to put ELITE CONSERVATIVES instead of just CONSERVATIVES then it would be a very good question.I am a BRIT and at the moment we have prince's William and harry who will soon be eligible to be sent to Afghanistan or Iraq as part of the royal household cavalry and they want to go the army heads do not want the risk that the future kings of England could get kidnapped, but just the fact that they want to go should send a message to the elites in the US about really serving their country and not just sending the poor and middle class to die for the elites decisions.

Wayne's draft status, through his age and family individuals length, stored him from being in the present day drafted interior the protection stress. He did have constrained provider interior the Pacific in the time of conflict. As for warding off attempt against accountability, many celebrities who did serve the protection stress have been purposely stored out of attempt against. Having celebrities interior the uniform replaced right into a large recruiting gadget, one to no longer be risked in attempt against. Ever ask your self why Joe Louis, a protection stress inner maximum, replaced into by no potential sent to attempt against accountability? BTW. John Wayne by no potential claimed to be a conflict hero. yet he observed as plenty attempt against as Jesse Ventura and John Kerry.

The only conservatives that truly "have" to work are the ones who haven't figured out there being used by the rich.

To justify your question, I'd need some proof that they are not volunteering. I wager that the majority of the USA armed forces are conservative.

I served 4 years in the armed forces during peace time (hell I signed up when i was 18, I can't determine when there is going to be a war or not), and my son is in the military as we speak. Why don't liberals volunteer for the combat duty? Canada just that nice, eh?

They do because those are the ones that fight for your freedom to talk about them. Not that I am fond of dems. or reps. but at least the reublicans will stand up against terrorists instead of fighting each other here in politics. Just take care of the problem and quit being politically correct.

Then who's fighting? Liberals? Please!!
I wish I could find it - I saw a poll on the news a few days ago that showed that Republicans are far more likely to support their child's decision to enlist than Dems are. If liberals are anti-war, and you don't think conservatives enlist (I can't wait to tell my very conservative buddy in Baghdad) then who in the hell do we have in Iraq and Afghanistan?
