Usually when I get in a fight with my girlfriend friend, I yell at her back when she yells at me because usually she yells at me for no reason. Yesterday she started yelling and I just decided to stay calm and basically ignore her by giving her answers like "yep, uh huh, right". I will never yell again because obviously nothing pissis a woman off more than being ignored.

When I read your question I thought "yeah right" But you have hit the nail on the head. I`m a mature woman and nothing makes me more furious than being ignored. Be careful though she`ll keep on pushing further and further to get a response.

Probably, if you had stayed quiet and listened in the first place she wouldn't have yelled at you. But it's not a bad strategy as long as your ears are open.

It is not to make her angry (be mature) but it is the best way to communicate. Calmly. Rationally. My ex husband did it well. Keep at it, but change your motive. This calm answer is how to defuse the situation.
