Yes. This is from personal experience. It is so dangerous for your water to leak. If it gets to low, it can effect your babys well being. I would advise you to call to Dr and tell them you think your water is leaking and to see when they can check you out. Dont hesitate. I did and I found out my water was 5 % on one side and 10% on the other side. VERYYYYY low. Thankfully I was at the hospital and I was able to be induced to get him out before it got too dangerous. My leak was slow over about a week. It is the hardest thing to detect which is why I didnt think anything of it. I know better now. If you feel of see moisture in your underware ( other than the normal stuff you will see.. you know what I mean. :) ) I would call and ask to get it check. They will stick this mitmus paper in there and it will turn red or blue if there is a leak or not. The first test the nurse did when i was at the hospital gave back negative. The second one my dr did was positive and this was within 30 mins. I didnt mean to get you freaked out if I did.. I m sorry not my intentions. I just want you to know how important it is to follow your gut when you are pregnant. :) Goodluck mama!

You should lose the plug before any water can come out. The plug is a slimy wall that blocks anything from going through. Since you're only 36 weeks pregnant, you may lose the plug later or not lose it at all. My friend never lost her plug and her water didn't break. After 41.5 weeks, she was induced.
I lost my mucus plug before my water leaked. To induce labor naturally, I did a lot of walking and prenatal yoga.

If your water is leaking, go to the hospital asap, it could cause infection if you don't. My mucus plug did not come out, but when my water broke, it was just a little trickle. So if you pee, and know you are done, and then stand up and still some leaking, go to the hospital and have them look. Or call your doctor. Either way, they need to check you.

Yes, you can leak. I had contraction and leaked all day before I gave birth. I didn't lose my plug until I was at the hospital. If you feel you are leaking you should get checked. If you are, it can be an open window for infection. Be sure, check it out!
Best of luck!

I had a cervical stitch and yes, I leaked water w/o losing my plug. You should call your doctor, they have a simple test they can do to see if the water is amniotic fluid. They did my test 2x and the first was neg. but the 2nd was positive, so if you even *think* it's fluid, go to the hospital and have the run the test, it's easy and fast (they put a q-tip in a solution and touch the *fluid* with it; if it's turns blue, it's fluid.

I was leaking, to the point where I had to change my pad everytime I went to the bathroom, for a week until I noticed what I thought was the plug.

You should check with your doctor. Sometimes when the water breaks it is just a trickle. But it isn't uncommon for pregnant women to have some incontinence especially this late in the pregnancy. The doctor will be able to tell you if it is urine or amniotic fluid.

The mucus plug can come out over of a period of time without being noticeable or it can come out as a whole.

You could have lost the mucous plug without knowing it. If you think your water broke, go to the hospital and they'll check you out.
