If there was anything written down that could even be vaguely construed as a contract (an email etc would do) then you've got a good starting point. Either way, just let them know that you're not going to let it slide, tell them that you've been to Citizens Advice, and generally they'll pay up. They'd rather pay 2 weeks pay than get prosecuted.

Are you in the states I don't know about over there but here in UK and Ireland the law is the same go to you dept of trade and industry or dept of employment they will send out a form which you fill in dates etc you worked and they take you're employer to court for the money good look (with or without contract)

Did you fill out a time sheet or submit a time card? Even if you didn't and/or you didn't keep a copy by law even without a contract they must pay you for work you performed for them. Contact your local employment security department and/or Labor and Industries.

They will request as much information as you can provide about the company you worked for:
Name of the company, address where it is located, address where you worked, address of main office, phone numbers, names of persons/supervisors you came in contact with etc...

sadly since there was no contract u could iether go to small claims court or the better business beurea mostly ur just sol
