Go to your start and all programs and look for tools or PC doctor or do a search for it on line under your computer manufacture website and if you do have PC doctor open it up and do a diagnostic test on audio,it will show you when test is done what is messed up,Which is usually just your sound driver and just reinstall it.It will show you a list of what is not right, and then do a system test on all of your PC and make sure everything is OK.Good luck

U have not make cleared the type of the cd u r playing. If it is track cd or audio cd which is normally having 10 to15 songs then in your pc there should be a cable connected directly from cd drive to mother board to hear it automatically. Other wise it is not possible to hear it's sound. If it is mp3 cd than check all sound settings.
Best luck.

There is a little cable connecting the CD drive to your sound card.
Can you hear other sounds on your PC other than the CD? If the answer is yes then you are missing this little cable.
