Yup! Just like when the previous administration did nothing after the bombing of the USS Cole emboldened Al-Quaeda to go forward with it's 9/11 plans.

(Y'know, if the spell check has "Hezbollah" in it, do you think it would be a stretch to include the proper spelling of "Al-Quaeda." Not saying YOU are wrong, but I would just like to be sure. It's not like I knew how to spell "Hezbollah" correctly before frequent spell checks on here.)

No. We are fighting iraqi insurgents and suicide bombers who are just plain mad that the US has occupied their territory. Not Al Quaeda. We've bombed their country to oblivion, devastated it, and killed their familes. Wouldn't you be mad if another country did that to the USA and your family? Being in Iraq has done nothing more than given reason to Al Quaeda, as to why they should be declaring Jihad on the USA.

As of right now, we have spent more in Iraq than we have on issues in the United States. I'm not saying we should cut and run, but our government needs to draw up a plan to let Iraq work out these differences that have been plagueing their country for decades. And they need to work it out themselves, the US, UN and whoever else is involved, needs to step back.

AL Qaeda involvement in Iraq is very small compared to the sectarian and insurgent violence. You would be telling them nothing more then the fact you are not prepared let them control the environment you engage them in.And if you think they will flourish there when US and UK forces leave i guess you do not have much knowledge of history about the way the ARAB world deals with terrorists on their own lands. The US government knows very well how they treat them else why do think they send them to Syria and Egypt when they want something out of them.So the question you should now be asking yourself is WHY ARE WE REALLY THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE ?.

I guess, but you have to remember that congressional report just came out saying that because we started the Iraq war, it has helped Al-Quaeda become stronger. They have increase recruiting and made it easier to kill American lives since they are now on their backdoor. I think more attention needs to be put on Al-Quaeda and the Afghanistan war.

When did it become the "mission" that we make Iraq a democracy? I thought the war was over when Bush declared "mission accomplished"...didn't you?

I dont think that leaving Iraq would tell our enemies anything except maybe that we came to our senses. You cannot say we are "losing" the war when we have not concluded what the definition of "winning" it is. Hussein gone. No WMD. we won. Lets go home. If Iraq becomes a threat to us again...go back. What is so difficult about that? Unless, of course, the true mission of the war is being concealed....like the oil fields. If that is the case then we should simply take over the oil fields instead of playing around in Baghdad.

Of course. They have said so and are counting on it.

"Americans are weak and can`t take the death of a few soldiers." Bin Laden
"They will run away just as they did in Beirut and Somalia." Bin Laden
Once they are gone from Iraq "the whole world is an open field for us." Zawihiri
Baghdad Is "The Capital Of The Caliphate." Bin Laden

People that don`t see this in the terrorists own words are stupidly blind.
The Recruitment posters will be, "Join us we defeated the greatest power in the world."

We won't be telling Al Qaeda anything, because they are not an Iraqi organization.

Prior to the illegal invasion of Iraq by US troops, Iraq was not a terrorist state. In fact, it was an atheist country that did not govern it's people by Islamic law...one of the only countries in the middle east that could make that claim. Because of this, Saddam Hussain was considered by the terrorist network to be an infidel, the same as they consider the USA.

The US invasion of Iraq, however, has created a new generation of terrorists who now hate the United States because they watched members of their family get killed and their cities destroyed by an enemy invading army, and are now very open to suggestion to join terrorist groups. Going to and staying in Iraq is giving Al Qaeda their biggest recruitment drive they've ever had.

absolutely not,
look at the Lebanese civil war.
that was 15 years of sectarian violence. the us steped in for 2 years got the barracks bombed lost 241 men then pulled out. Lebanon become a democratic country despite not having western help. besides this is not al-quida. this situation is shia Muslims wanting all the control and killing Sunnis out of hate. then you got shia's killing shia's. then you got Kurds saying **** off. the shia government doesn't want to share power.
the shia have death squads, they kill alot. the U.S. supports the shia. if we leave the death squads will be on the own. nothing else. this is a real civil war despite what the media says.
besides shia and sunni are just as exteme as one another.
al-quida is sunni and yeah they hate the west
but so does Hezbollah, and there shia, they bombed our barracks
they all hate us, you know why 655,000 dead since they war!
500,000 children dead from from sanctions formt he first gulf war.
wouldn't you hate somebody that killed that many of your own people.
you might say " yeah but what about freedom" and i'd say **** freedom when you have an avergae of 2 hours of electricity a day. the waters dirty, and your kids are ******* hungry. plus if you start a milita to protect your family from detah squads the U.S. comes in arrests you and then legally tortures you.
we are not making it better

I don't think they need any more encouragement.

Remember this is a culture that holds grudges for thousands of years.

They still burn effigies of Alexander the Great once a year to remember he burned the palace of Darius
