I've read quite abit on this topic but still cant decide who's right and who's wrong.. Anyone can enlighten me on this and maybe show me good references from reliable websites? Thanx a miliion!

yes and no - some is required but like all things you can have too much

the proper way to tune is too start removing baffles ( or restricter plates - or shortening pipe ) until you notice the lack of low end torque then back up one setting ( at the same time you need to re jet and watch the plugs ) ( not a simple process )

to simplify remove baffles and watch for plug overheating ( you should be slighty rich at low and mid-range anyway so you don't lean out on top end ) you will find the mixture will be slightly leaner as you remove baffles

Back presure really starts to kick in more into mid-range. I know there is a company that sells baffles that you might check out. Believe the name is 'Big City Thunder'. I'm sure if you do a google search it will come up with their website.

Actually, yes.
Straight pipes, no baffling is only good for wide open, crank it to the stop power.Low/mid range needs some back pressure.
Also good is anti-reversion cones, as it stops/reduces burnt exhaust gases from reentering the combustion chamber.
