In the USA the advantage of being a pharmacist is that you can make a pile of money! Also, it can be quite an interesting job. You can work in a community pharmacy, or in a hospital or in a research job.

To be a pharmacist, you first must take a lot of science and math in high school and do well. Then you go to college and have 2 to 4 years of college including some very tough courses such as calculus, physics, biology, chemistry and organic chemistry.

Then you apply to a College of Pharmacy. It is getting very hard to get into these schools as they are mostly rather small and a lot of kids want to get in on the good deal of making a lot of money... our local college supposedly had 1000 applications for 90 spots last year. Pharmacy college takes four years. You have to take a lot more chemistry and other science and lab courses.

So, be prepared to fight for top grades in tough courses. If you are dedicated enough, you will come out on top.
