I appreciate all the answers to this question. I have been in a very long relationship and after many years of being faithful and supportive, I came to the conclusion that this person doesnt love me because they have been ignoring what I have been saying my needs are since the beginning of our relationship. I met some one that I have a lot in common with and because I thought my relationship was over I had an affair. (one night stand with a lot of coffie dates) I came clean a week after I slept with the other person and said that I wanted to leave. I told him I just thought it would be only fair to him to let him know. He was very upset and we talked it all through and he wanted to work it all out because he really did not want to lose me. He has been great the past 11 months but I still feel like I am missing something......please understand that we were married at 20 years of age and I am now in my thirties. I do believe bring out different qualities in us,who makes us better people

Of course you can love two people at the same time. I have, deeply. I loved one person for who she was, and I loved all the little things about her. I also loved another person for how she made me feel. The problem is, it didn't reallly work. You can love two people, but it ends up usually in a problem, and you end up having to make a decision, and someone gets hurt. The problem I had was it was vitually impossible to give time to both as they needed it. It wasn't fair to them, but it was just how I felt. Things happen. You should out of respect for their feelings choose to love just one.

I believe its possible to love two different people at the same time. For one there are different reasons which will cause that emotion to come about. It could be because of a person - personality, mannerism, respect, humor it could be for many reason. If its true love you will know it and it will leave you truly loving one person

I have had that very problem...what I did was forget about my more lusty, University-related love and went for the more sensible one.

The one young woman I had to forget was a tough one in one way, but easy because she was so lost in what she wanted.

Pick the more sensible and stable love, not the one that overcomes you and makes you think silly and unlikely thoughts.

Absolutely. The monogamy thing is a social custom designed to make life fairer and more orderly.

I dont think you could really love 2 people at the same time. You could be infatuated with someone else while your in love with someone else though. If you truely loved someone you wouldnt have to ask.

I don't know.........Can you love a nice juicy T-bone and still want a nice Big Mac occasionally? I would say it is possible. You love them because they are different and you enjoy them for differ ant reasons. Each is unique and tasty!

I think you can love things about each person, but I don't think you can truly love two people at the same time.

Only the test of time will tell you who is the true, surviving love.
Don't destroy that kind over a passing hotsy totsty.

If u mean love as man and a woman, no. If more than one relationship is maintained, it cannot be the true love but lust.
