Who says death is hostile? It is a transition from this plane to the next. Death is the only guarantee you bring with you when you are born. Life on Earth may be hostile, death is no comparison.

Death is only hostile if it comes before its time, if it is forced (taking a life rather than letting it slip away when it is naturally meant to). Otherwise death is probably a very quiet, peaceful thing. Just the end of life's cycle. Leaving this life to enter another.

Hostility (hatred, anger, aggression) often leads to violence and death (murder, war etc) but death itself is not hostile.

Death is not hostile, it's life that is hostile. And life is hostile for those who are hostile to them self. so it's a chain. If you live a content life then you won't find death as your enemy.

I wouldn't call death "hostile." There are many people who welcome death following a lengthy illness. But if I must answer the question I think regret is more hostile than death.

Death is not "hostile." Death is a fact, like gravity.

Do you mean, "What threat can one make that is more hostile than the threat of death?" Or, "I would rather die than.......[fill in the blank]?"

Living in an parental environment where a child is constantly severely abused both mentally and physically. Without the proper guidance and help that is a hell worse than death.
