I'm looking for the 0-60 time on a stock '07 Honda Civic EX Coupe with an automatic transmission. Is it somewhere in the 8 second range?

yo like 5 seconds but if you put a spoiler on it that is tall and some stickers and a muffler it will be faster. if you want it to be really fast put a loud stereo in it

First off don't listen to "zay_khand.." I don't know where he gets his information from but not even an 07 Civic Si is that fast. According to Road and Track magazine the 06 Civic Si (which is the same as the 07) runs 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds. As for the 07 Honda Civic EX coupe with an auto, I couldn't find the time for that exact car. However, according to msn auto's, a LX coupe with a 5-speed manual and same 140hp engine runs 0-60mph in 8.04 seconds. The heavier EX sedan with an auto run 0-60mph in 9.52 seconds. Your 07 Civic EX coupe w/ automatic transmission should fall some where in between. If it where a 5-speed manual it would be in the low 8 second range. But sense it has a 5-speed automatic I would say probably in the high 8 second to low 9 second range, sense the coupe is lighter than the slower sedan.

Firstly, don't assume that you'll be mostly accident free because you're a good driver. (which I don't doubt that you are). I consider myself a great driver and recently got into a completely unavoidable accident that wasn't my fault. I was in a 6,000lb Lexus SUV and I know that if I had been in a smaller car I would have been injured significantly. That being said, the new Civic is a very very safe car for it's size. (Be sure to get any optional side/curtain airbags, if there are any) As a new driver, theres really two approaches to take. I'd be tempted to buy a new one. You won't save much on a used civic (hold their value EXTREMELY well), except for the fact that an '06 will be close to out of it's bumper-to-bumper warranty (which I believe in Hondas is 3 years/36k miles). Also, any first year kinks in the car's design will be worked out by 2008. However, as a new driver, you're likely to get dings and scratches in your car, whether your fault or not. For some this is extremely frustrating with a new car. (I was constantly pulling my hair out over every little nick I got in my beautiful new black Acura RSX (Acura's version of Civic) I got for my first car) I know many kids with new Civics and they all love them. I'd say go for it, the new Civic is an awesome car. - Chris, a 17 year old driver.
