Because they are dumb, ignorant of God's law of marriage and have no clue as to the pain they can cause by leaving. God intended marriage to be a life-long relationship not to be separated by an act of man. Too bad most don't have a clue about it. If they would read in the Bible I Corinthians 13 "The Love Chapter" they would find out what true love is and isn't, especially the part that if love dies, it wasn't love in the first place.
